Perspective Drawing
The entire last chapter was devoted to the principles of perspective for a reason. It forms a primary foundation of what you’ll do as a matte painter. This chapter will put those principles into practice. You’ll do a perspective drawing over the top of the castle concept painting. This will involve finding the horizon in the plate, setting up the vanishing points, and delineating the large forms. Then, you’ll use the technique for subdividing a surface in perspective to work out the fine details. Using a new technique, you’ll delineate all of the ellipses in the round parts of your structure.
