After being in production for 25 years, Audi has pulled the plugs on the TT sports coupe, rolling out the last unit from its plant in Hungary. Since its first launch in 1998, Audi has sold over 6.62 lakh units of the TT globally, including India.
The last Audi TT to roll out of the production line was an Audi TTS finished in Chronos Gray Metallic. This particular example of the Audi TT is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that makes 315bhp and 400Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed DSG gearbox, featuring Audi’s quattro technology.
In its 25-year span, the Audi TT has seen three generations, including convertible models, special editions, final editions, and several facelifts. In India, the third-generation Audi TT was the recently sold model, powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine with a price tag of Rs 60.34 lakh.
So the big question remains — will the Audi TT make a comeback, similar to how the Audi R8 will with an electric powertrain? Time will reveal more details.
